Glitter Market

Image
I can't believe it is almost time for Glitter Market. There are going to be some amazing vendors there. You won't want to miss this opportunity to purchase a one of a kind handmade gift for someone special or yourself (you are someone special too.) The location is not nailed down yet but it will be in Cassady Square by Paper Crown, either right next door or a few doors down. It is Sat., Nov. 19th from 10-5. Stop by and get some of that Christmas shopping out of the way and have fun while doing so. There will be classes going on that day at Paper Crown as well. Check out the blog at papercrownokc.blogspot.com It is going to be so much fun! What a fun girl's day out! Hope to see you there.

Wow. No words. This video says it all.

She did it Anyway.

I love that little saying. I have been doing an online workshop called Soul Restoration with Melody Ross and although I haven't had the time yet to get as deep into the whole process as I intend to I can tell you that I think it is something every woman could benefit from. We are all so similar. Everyone has their own hang ups and fears, but deep down I believe we just all want to feel worthy. Worthy of being loved and we are. We all are. We are human and we all make mistakes and we beat ourselves up so much. Who needs enemies when our worst one lives within us. We put limitations on ourselves, labels and such. I plan on doing the work to free myself from such. I deserve to be loved and to be happy. We all do. Go to www.soul-restoration.com and check it out.

Why?

Why do I struggle every year when it starts turning fall? It doesn't make sense. The summer this year was brutal at best and yet something happens in my brain when it starts turning colder and the feel of Fall is in the air. I just knew it wouldn't bother me this year, but here I am once again in this funk dreading the colder weather. I cannot recall any type of trauma inflicted on me this time of year, so why? My Dad died in the summer, my sister in the winter and my Mom in the Spring. This is really the only time of year I haven't experienced a major loss. Why does contentment seem so far away at times? Why does it seem like there is this giant gaping hole in me that I am constantly trying to fill with stuff? I know this will pass. It always does. I know I have so much to be thankful for.

My dear friend is expecting her third baby and indulged me in my desire to paint and photograph her already beautiful belly.

How I Spent my Saturday

Image
(I do realize that this is not the best pic of me, but it is the best pic I have of the outside of Mrs. O'leary's. Please don't judge.) I got up yesterday morning at 5:30 and was on the road to Wichita by 6:45. I was taking a class at Mrs. Oleary's (a 13 hour class to be exact.) For those mixed media art lovers who have not had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. O'leary's I encourage you to do so. Joni and her husband Mark are 2 of the nicest, most hard working people I have ever met. The class was amazing, crammed full of information and technique. I love working with metal and this class was a necklace pendant sampler with lots of metal components. I actually used a torch, scary I know, but awesome. I cut, punched, soldered, used patina and so much more. Thanks Mark for the 5 hour energy and escorting me to my car to make sure I was safe. Lovely place and even more lovely are the people who make Mrs. Oleary's an amazing place to visit.
